Hi, I'm Abbey!

It's Wonderful to Meet You!
I commend you for taking this step toward healing and self-discovery. I, too, once felt lost and misunderstood. Seeking therapy was a decision that profoundly impacted my life and inspired me to pursue a career in mental health.
In the Therapy Room:
As a student therapist in my foundational practicum, my focus is on observing and learning from experienced professionals. This experience allows me to apply my classroom learning and immerse myself in the therapeutic process. When I begin direct client interactions, I will be prepared to provide a collaborative, empathetic, and safe space tailored to your journey!Â
My Experience as a Therapist:
I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in human services from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. I am currently in my first year of the Master of Social Work program at the University of Kentucky. My experience includes:Â
Intern, Westland Youth Assistance Program:Â Facilitated individual and group sessions and organized service-learning events to provide guidance and skill development to clients.Â
Intern, The Guidance Center, Assertive Community Treatment Team:Â Trained in motivational interviewing skills and utilized them with clients to support their mental health and substance use recovery goals.
Patient Observation Aide, Corewell Health:Â Work with individuals of various ages to help maintain safety.
Outside of the Therapy Office:
I have a passion for animals and have enjoyed dog sitting as a fun side gig throughout my academic journey. I hope to incorporate this passion into my work with clients. In my free time, I love attending concerts, being outdoors, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. I am excited to be part of the Being Human Group team and look forward to supporting you on your journey!
