Hi, I'm Emily!

Welcome!

My approach is centered on creating a welcoming, helpful and calm environment that is supportive to my clients. I am here to accompany you through this journey with empathy and openness.

In the therapy room:

During our sessions I may incorporate cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness as we work together to address your goals.

My specialty areas include:

I specialize in working with teenagers who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and more. My experience in trauma-informed care has taught me to work from a strengths-based perspective that assists clients in learning to cope with a variety of symptoms and circumstances.

My training:

I received my Bachelor of Psychology from Wayne State University and my Master of Social Work from The University of Michigan. During my graduate studies I was part of the Detroit Clinical Scholar Program, where I specialized in working with children, teens, and families through trauma-informed care. During my MSW program, I completed my internship at Hegira Health working with children and families. I later worked for them as a full-time therapist and spent some time in private practice as well. I found that I greatly enjoyed working with teens, and love helping individuals to learn tools to cope with various challenges.

Outside the office:

Outside of the office, I love spending time with my family and my two kitties, reading, running, practicing yoga, sitting in coffee shops, listening to podcasts, and spending time outside whether it be hiking, walking, or picnicking.
